Episode 2 - Flying with Seth Sternberg of Meebo
by Tony Chung on February 9th, 2007
|
I headed to downtown Mountain View last week to chat with Seth Sternberg about his baby, Meebo.com. Did you know that Seth flies planes? =) Here it is in its entirety. My chat with Seth Sternberg, co-founder of Meebo. |
|
Some topics we discussed:
- Saturdays for Seth
- Meebo’s past two lives
- California Pizza Kitchen & the name ‘Meebo’

|
|
Basics: Seth founded Meebo with Elaine and Sandy. Meebo is an instant messaging service in the web browser. It allows you to use AIM, MSN Messenger, GTalk, and other chat services without downloading anything. Seth has a political science degree from Yale and came to Silicon Valley to get his MBA at Stanford.
I apologize in advance for the sound FX (cell phone and iPod battery sounds). I’ll fix these for the upcoming episodes.

That was awesome man. Great job on your first of many interviews. Good questions and I liked the casual feel of it.

Great idea about ‘everyday conversations with interesting people’.
I didn’t know Seth flies!

I’m glad you asked him how they planned to make money =). Even though I wasn’t satisfied with his answer, I’m glad you balance the ‘everyday conversation’ with the occasional hard hitting question.
